Sunset Ridge Log Cabin in the Smoky Mountains

Overview

Our little log cabin in the Smoky Mountains has a spectacular view. At the edge of the Cherokee National Forest and Pisgah National Forest near the NC TN line, this romantic spot will mesmerize you with sunsets & enrapture you with the sounds of nature, giving you the rest you need. Located 5 mi. from white water rafting and ziplining, 7 mi. from Martha Sundquist State Forest, 30 min. from Newport Tn, 45 min. from Hot Springs, and 1 hr. from Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge, Asheville, and Knoxville.

Sunset Ridge Cabin is perched among the trees on a mountain terrace overlooking the Smoky Mountain National Park, Pisgah National Forest, at 2000 feet above sea level. This is our home away from home, and we enjoy sharing it with others. The property is next to the Cherokee National Forest, where you can find a lot of old mountain history. This "getaway cabin" will accommodate two guests comfortably; it provides a queen-size bed, a living room with a sofa and recliner, a full bath with a stand-up shower, a kitchen with granite countertops and full sink, a full-sized refrigerator, stove/range, microwave, coffee pot, dishwasher, and lots of storage. There is also a table with seating for 4. The cabin has heat, AC, towels, linens, and kitchen necessities. Outside you will enjoy rockers on the front porch, Adirondack chairs around a fire pit, a yard swing with the best view, a picnic table, and a propane grill. The bunkhouse adjoining the deck is separate from the rental. The cabin surroundings are secluded from city life, with access to hiking trails. You can immediately park at the cabin off a private paved road. You will enjoy complete privacy. All this with inspiring views, seclusion, and part of Mother Nature. What are you waiting for? Experience getting back to nature at Sunset Ridge.

About us

We are a couple with four children and a love for the Smoky Mountains. We are developing a hospitality business in the Smoky Mountains, including luxury cabins, small cabins, and a glamping campground (HospitableHomes.com) We have a passion for travel; having explored Mexico and Central and South America, we aspire to visit Europe, Africa, and the Mediterranean. Our homeschooled children go with us wherever we go. As followers of Jesus, we believe in the Biblical principle of hospitality and aim to embody it in our business and personal lives. We like the out of doors but hate the heat. We should probably live in Alaska. We try to live life to its fullest with our kids in tow.

Notes
We love being in the Smoky Mountains. This is our home away from home. We have been hosting travelers in the Smoky Mountains since 2018. First, we started offering Sunrise Meadow Log Cabin. In 2020 we built SkyView Smoky Mountain Lodge. In 2022 we opened Sunset Ridge. We enjoy being hospitable, and our beautiful cabins can be found at Hospitable Homes. We would love to host you at one of our cabins! Since there is no trash service out here in the mountains, it is expected for guests to remove and dispose of the trash generated. For your convivence, there is a trash disposal site less than one mile from the cabin that you will pass as you come and go. The signs say only Cocke county residents, and this trash is generated in Cocke and can be disposed of there. If you leave on a Sunday or holiday you may leave one bag of trash for the cleaners to remove.
